Really tasty and the perfect amount of cream cheese. Bagel was super seasoned, but the vibes in store are kind of slow and inefficient. Very friendly staff, though!

A pretty decent morning bagel place. Order at the back and pay in the front (line snakes). Not much seating inside, as there's just a long bench alongside the line, but you can eat outside at their tables (beware random swarms of bees though), or in Central Park. There's a separate, faster line for takeout if you wanna order online or via phone. Line moves pretty fast, and they typically just yell your name once your order is ready. I almost always get the BEC and it never disappoints. Definitely recommend their latke tots if you haven't tried them already. Prices are very fair, and they have seasonal pastries that you can order on the side. It's been a local go-to bagel place that, while not spectacular, is very consistent and delicious.

This was the second time I have been to Modern Bread and Bagel while in NYC and it has been a joy! As someone with celiac disease is it often difficult to find gluten free options. It is so nice that everything here is gluten free! I walked in and ordered an everything bagel with cream cheese (they also have vegan options) and a slice of a strawberry loaf which were both delicious. The staff was all very friendly and answered all my questions! The is little seating inside but more options outside. I ended up taking my food to Central Park a couple blocks away to eat! Will definitely return when I am in NYC again!

Wanted to try something new. So I decided to give this place a try. We order from Grub hub. My bagel was fresh and soft. Pastrami salmon was well seasoned I added the jalapeño cheddar cream cheese which made it fulfilling. Service was perfect. Everyone in the office received the correct order and was extremely satisfied. Thank you

Wish I got to try more here-- all the different cream cheeses looked SO delicious. I would have never known everything was gluten free. The bagels were so dense but soft on the inside with a great chew to it. My favorite was the Sugar Fish bagel-- brown sugar encrusted salmon with tomato and greens on the fluffy bagel. The salmon had such a unique umami flavor. I wish it came with avocado, though. Spicy feta was also delicious, with two perfectly cooked eggs on top. The avo&smoke I also enjoyed but found it to be relatively bland in comparison to the two others. I wish it had cream cheese on it too. Ultimately I couldn't give a 5/5 due to personal preferences but this place was impressive and yummy. I would definitely come back again to try some different kinds of bagels.
